The article deals with the technology of formation and evaluation of theoretical knowledge and it is aimed at solving an acute problem of the deficiency of methodological tools in the practice of sports schools. These tools are supposed to be aimed at the formation of theoretical knowledge of young athletes and they are based on the use of distance learning technologies. The object of research is the process of forming theoretical knowledge of young athletes. The subject of the research is the technology of formation and evaluation of theoretical knowledge in young athletes-track and field athletes, based on the use of distant technologies. The obtained research results expand the existing provisions of the theory and methodology of sports training in the direction of formation and control of knowledge in young athletes.
