Based on the experience of revitalizing public urban spaces, modern trends in the development of architectural design, the author convincingly proves the significant role and viability of participatory design mechanisms, emphasizes the demand for such a method of transforming the urban environment as tactical urbanism. The process of cooperation between city administrations, designers, business structures, citizens, expert communities in creating a comfortable urban environment allows at the stage of pre-project preparation to increase the potential demand for public space, to determine the potential of the territory and the prospects for its development, to form a culture of dialogue and co-creation.
