The article presents the results of the analysis of O.S. Ushakova’s research in the field of an integrated approach to the speech development of a preschool child, as well as the results of analysis of scientific works created by representatives of the scientific school founded by her. Their works establish the link between speech development and other aspects of personality development. Also, they treat speech development as a holistic phenomenon in which all its directions are considered in unity and complex interactions.
