The article deals with the history of struggle for the rights of Indian untouchable castes and the use of Afro-American’s’ experience of anti-discrimination movement. Today in India Ambedkar’s her-itage is being widely discussed. He was the main creator of the Indian Constitution and the leader of the untouchable castes in the struggle for independence and during the first years of sovereignty. He managed to analyse the mistakes made by Afro-Americans in American revolution, sustained the po-sition of the untouchable in India and included some their rights into Constitution.
