The article deals with the cooperation of Professor Alexey V. Rykov with his colleagues from the In-stitute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences. The author recollected their meetings and writes about the book “Rebellious Maharaja” by Alexey V. Rykov about Dulip Singh, the last ruler of Sikh native state of Punjab, his life in Britain, flight to Russia and failure of his mission to arrange march to India.
