The author examined the structural framework for the emergence and dissemination of the narrative of new martyrs and confessors – the memory of political repressions in the USSR in religious discourses. Based on the analysis of the narrative of the new martyrs and confessors, the article shows the transformation of the role of historical narrative as a catalyst for social transformation.
