The article discusses a new sociocultural vision of the role of human intellectual culture from various perspectives. The functional significance, methodological approaches, priority roles of intellectual culture in the development of Russian society are considered in the article. From the standpoint of sociocultural knowledge, intellectual culture ensures the quality of life of a modern person. The pedagogical view reveals the role of intellectual culture in improving the quality of bachelor training at the university. The author’s attention is focused on the possibilities of implementing the system of development of intellectual culture in order to prepare a competent bachelor, a much-needed specialist in new branches of science, industry and education.
