The article examines the problem of opposition of German students to the Nazi regime on the example of the group «White Rose». Attention is paid to the Russian mental factor, as one of the key factors in the life of anti-fascist students and in the activities of the group. The emphasis is placed on the formation of the personality of one of the leaders of the «White Rose» – Alexander Shmorel under the influence of Russian culture. It is shown that the students’ active actions were aimed at overthrowing the fascist dictatorship and, as a consequence, at making Russia free from the German invaders.
