Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issues of improving professional competencies of sociologists under the conditions of active introduction of a wide range of information technologies in various spheres of society. The necessity of mastering new technologies to improve the professional skills of future sociologists is considered. Special attention is paid to the importance of the fundamental knowledge base for students of «Sociology». The results of the parallel experiment, aimed at revealing the possibilities of artificial intelligence in the formation of instrumental methodological competences on the students of the profile direction of training, are presented. The prospects of using artificial intelligence (AI) technology to optimize the educational process and fill in the identified cognitive gaps in students’ knowledge are considered.
