Abstract
Today in our multinational country considerable attention is paid to the preservation and revival of traditional types of decorative and applied art and folk crafts. In the context of growing globalization processes, this is the most important factor in preserving the national multicultural identity and originality. In this regard, issues of professional training of specialists for this area of culture, including applied artists of various profiles and directions, including artistic ceramics, are of particular relevance. The Department of Fine, Decorative and Applied Arts and Design of the Lipetsk State Pedagogical University named after P.P. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky has a rich, long-term experience in this area, the generalization and analysis of which, from the perspective of the basic academic training of ceramic artists, is largely carried out for the first time in the presented article in relation to their teaching painting. The methodological basis of the study was the works of the largest domestic art teachers on the problems of teaching painting to students of higher educational institutions: G.V. Beda, S.P. Lomov, A.P. Yashukhin and some other authors. In the work, along with empirical methods of analyzing various components of educational programs, educational and creative works of students, the method of theoretical analysis of modern scientific and methodological literature on issues of special artistic education of ceramic artists was actively used. The study pays special attention to the dialectical relationship between the general professional and specialized training of artists of decorative and applied arts, which allows us to have a fresh look at the process of teaching painting in non-academic areas of art education, as well as to reveal the specifics and methodological features of its teaching for students majoring in “Artistic Ceramics”. In addition, the article provides some specific recommendations for improving the specialized painting training of this category of students as it focuses of their professional activities.
