The article considers the students’ years as a period of harmonious combination of intel-lectual and social activity, the highest social activity of a person as a future “figure” and pro-fessional. Several definitions of the creative potential of an individual are analyzed in the ar-ticle in the line of the integrative approach. Specific features of artistic and creative activity are singled out. The concept “creative potential of a would-be teacher of music” is suggested from the perspective of the integrative approach.
