The article considers the problem of updating the content of the course of composition and analyses the peculiarities of interpretation of the composition subject in the theory of fine art. The paper also gives a brief characterization of the main learning technologies used in the course of composition in Russian education. The article also states emphasizes the necessity to introduce changes into the practical and theoretical course of composition for student seeking bachelor’s degree in the realm of fine art.
