The article analyzes the changes in the value orientations of modern students and the problematic aspects of determining their professional development goals. The paper states the necessity to improve the technologies of educational training, formulates the main provisions, which define the organization of the Olympiad movement as a way of creative self-development of students. The article also considers the role of the Olympiad movement in the process of formation of the student’s spirituality, its focus on creativity and continuous improvement through creative development of the field of professional activity.
