The article is devoted to the place of the peasant issue in the works written by the outstanding Russian writer and great fabulist I. A. Krylov. Based on the analysis of his works of various genres, the author concludes that his views in this area are complex and contradictory, with a negative assessment of the misuse of serfdom by the Russian nobility, as well as some changes in his positions in this area during his life and work.
