The article reveals the genesis of research on A.S. Makarenko’s pedagogical heritage in Italy, shows the interpretation of the axiological foundations of A. S. Makarenko’s educational system by prominent Italian scholars and teachers. It is proved that the formation of pedagogical concepts in Italy in the second half of the 20th century was significantly affected by the ideological and creative heritage of A. S. Makarenko. A.S. Makarenko’s works are deeply studied and interpreted by Italian scientists, primarily from the perspective of their axiological orientation. In the studies of Italian scientists, the axiological aspect of the analysis of the theory and practice of A.S. Makarenko is manifested to a greater extent in the interpretation of the spiritual and moral orientation of education.
