The article is aimed at analyzing the conflict between technical methods of obtaining an image and drawing from nature. The authors study the influence of the use of photographic images and
optical devices on the quality of teaching academic drawing. As a result they come to the conclusion, that the use of photographs in art is justified, besides, the authors recommend to use them in educational drawing.
