The article considers the gender aspects of the choice of certain media by young people. The choice of the theme “Students’ trust in the media” as the object of the study is due to the increased interest of scientists in modern problems of this age group. In the study, through a questionnaire, the degree of subjective trust in sources broadcasting information about political and economic events in the country was identified. The gender features of the youth audience definition of the concept of reliability of the information covered are revealed. It has been established that the Internet is the most trusted by the respondents. According to the majority of students, the most complete information about events in modern society can be obtained on the Internet and the minimum amount of information – in the press. The empirical data obtained can be used to improve the processes of secondary socialization of modern students, as well as in the process of training sociologists and organizers of work with youth.
