Fine motor skills are important in professions where results depend on the coordinated work of the fingers. The article identifies the features of improving and evaluating fine motor skills in the training of specialists in various professions. Fine motor skills are considered an integral part of vocational training in a wide range of occupations. This aspect of professional training is most often studied in relation to the following occupations: doctors (dentists and surgeons), musicians (pianists and violinists), aerospace specialists (parachutists and cosmonauts) and workers (welders). All the studies can be divided into several categories: I – study of the physiological determinants of fine motor skills; II – study of the relationship of fine motor skills to psychological processes; III – development of fine motor skills as an integral part of vocational physical education; IV – development of more advanced methods of assessing fine motor skills; V – study of the influence of fine motor skills on work processes; VI – study of external factors affecting the level of manifestation of fine motor skills. The literature on the subject was searched in scientometric databases, electronic libraries and search engines. All in all 46 scientific publications from 1976 to 2024 were reviewed.
