Abstract

This article discusses the results of developing and testing the innovative method “Smyshlysh” (“Smart child”), which combines physical exercise and digital technologies. The method was developed using a sequence of methodological tasks for developing children’s abilities. The method was formalized, and a computer algorithm and a software application with computer vision were created based on it. Sixty children aged 5-7 years participated in an experiment to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The experimental group (30 children) attended 10 lessons, during which each child completed 80 levels of the computer program. A total of 2,400 recordings were collected for analysis. A method for the step-by-step development of children’s motor and cognitive abilities was developed. An accessible application was created that, using computer vision, objectively assesses and develops motor and cognitive abilities in a playful manner. Mathematical and statistical analysis of the pedagogical experiment results demonstrated a significant improvement in indicators of children’s motor and cognitive abilities. Testing of the “Smyshlysh” method demonstrated that it is worth using in preschool education.
