A.A. Linchenko THE COLLAPSE OF THE USSR: IMAGES OF HISTORICAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE DISCOURSIVE SPACE OF MODERN RUSSIA

Based on the constructivist thesis about the dependence of public images of the past on current social practices and discourses, the article attempts to analyze the specifics of images of historical responsibility in the context of discussing the events of the collapse of the USSR in educational, media and political discourses. Despite the transformation of history into the most important symbolic tool of social consolidation in modern Russia, as well as the activation of official historical policy, the images of historical responsibility in the context of discussing the events of the collapse of the USSR continue to remain fragmentary and depend on the specifics of various social discourses and their value environments. It was revealed that the strengthening of the role of the state in the historical politics of recent years has contributed to the transformation of media, educational and political discourses and the convergence of their images of historical responsibility with official interpretations. The influence of the official position on the topic of the collapse of the USSR was most noticeable in the political and media spheres.

Key words: collapse of the USSR, historical responsibility, media discourse, political use of the past, sociology of commemorations.
