The article examines the historical context of the emergence of the New Chilean song movement, presents outstanding representatives of this direction, and lists the main themes of the songs. The author analyzes the moral values expressed in the New song movement and concludes that these songs serve a valuable material for learning the Spanish language and country studies as they teach moral values and broaden the students’ outlook.
