In modern social and cultural conditions, a social structure including new actors with a new system of relationships and connections with the surrounding reality is formed, so the process of social adaptation of student youth acquires a new activity. Today there is a contradiction between the potential possibilities of the educational environment realized through pedagogical support aimed at successful social adaptation of students, and the lack of appropriate mechanisms in practice. The article analyzes the peculiarities of pedagogical support of students’ social adaptation realized by means of extracurricular activities. Effective ways of pedagogical support for successful social adaptation of personality are considered. The stages, methods and means of organization of extracurricular activities that influence the social adaptation of the student’s personality are presented. The author carried out a sociological analysis on the impact of pedagogical support on the social adaptation of students’ personality through the extracurricular environment of the university using the example of a particular educational institution. The proposed pedagogical conditions of pedagogical support of students’ social adaptation by means of extracurricular activities have shown positive dynamics in practice.
