The article describes the substantive and methodological features of teaching a new discipline for the system of Russian higher education, “History of Religions in Russia”, for full-time students of non-core areas of training in the context of digitalization. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the standard content of the discipline “History of Religions in Russia” based on federal and intra-university acts. The authors of the article focus on the fact that the teaching of this discipline should be based on the state policy of our state, have a secular and humanistic orientation, be carried out impartially, objectively and holistically with an emphasis on traditional religions, spiritual and moral values and the cultural and historical heritage of our country. The methodological foundations of both teaching the course as a whole and studying individual sections of the course are also considered, based on the principles of harmonious relationships between representatives of traditional religions with each other and with the Russian state as a whole.
