Taking into account modern trends in the development of society and its digitalization some qualitative changes are taking place in the environment and the socialization of older preschool children. The studies note that preschool children spend more time in front of screens of digital devices, thus time for play interaction with peers and games in general is significantly reducing. At the same time for older preschool children, playing is a significant activity and understanding the potential of games by teachers is the basis for development and successful socialization. Taking into account this fact we formulated the purpose of this work. It is to substantiate the corrective and developmental potential of a role-playing game. The article considers the need to use a role-playing game to socialize older preschool children with disabilities in a digital environment. The article analyses relevant theoretical and applied research. Also it describes the results of our own studies on the assessment of the formation level of plot-role game playing specific to older preschool children with disabilities. The paper also reveals the assessment results of the use of correctional-developing potential of plot-role games by teachers, while working with older preschool children with disabilities. The developed matrices specify the limitations and resources of the plot-role game for the socialization of children.
