Abstract
This article substantiates the need for targeted, systematic training of future teachers in shaping the Russian multicultural identity of schoolchildren as a response to the challenges of socio-cultural reality. It examines the readiness of future teachers to shape the Russian multicultural identity of schoolchildren as a key component of civic education in the context of cultural diversity. The concept of “Russian multicultural identity” is defined as an integrative sense of belonging to the multinational people of the Russian Federation, combining all-Russian civic solidarity with respect and knowledge of the cultural characteristics of the peoples of Russia. Based on the theoretical analysis and methodology of the competence approach, a structural and meaningful model of the future teacher’s readiness for the formation of a Russian multicultural identity has been developed, which includes cognitive, operational-activity, personal-value and reflexive components. Deficiencies in the current system of pedagogical education are identified, and ways to overcome them are proposed through the integration of the multicultural component into academic disciplines, enhanced practical training in a multiethnic environment, and the development of the personal position of future teachers. The article describes the specific pedagogical conditions, technologies, and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the proposed system within university education. The article has practical implications for the development of modules and programs for training future teachers at pedagogical universities.
